Fog Rift CatacombsGrace. Scorpion River CatacombsGrace Death Knight Boss Guide Shadow of the Erdtree Bosses Ranked. Death Knight Fight Strategy. The Best Tips for Death Knight: Recommended Skill: Sacred Blade, Braggart's Roar Bring Lightningproof Dried Liver Recommended Talisman: Boltdrake Talisman ( 3 if possible), Dagger Talisman, Roar Medalion Death Knight with twinaxe is suspectible to parry Recommended Banished Knight Oleg, as his aggressive nature can keep the boss's aggression off of you, along with staggering it every so often. Melee Users The Death Knight relies on powerful lightning spells and a combination of quick strikes and delayed attacks. This presents a good opportunity for most melee users to stay within striking distance and land a heavy attack. When fighting this boss, you can opt to use the Boltdrake Talisman to reduce Lightning Damage so when you get hit by his elemental attacks, this will give you a chance to replenish your HP after. When posing for a heavy attack, make sure that you do it when the boss has finished with their current string of attacks and you are within striking distance. This boss' poise can be easily broken by hitting them with 2 Heavy Attacks consistently, and you can also press R1 (Critical Strike) when they fall to their knees to inflict more damage. It is important to note that while the boss' skills are slow, they are powerful when they hit you. However, Heavy Attacks are definitely worth the risk for this fight as they will create a lot of opening for you. One of the combos that this boss will do is the 3-Swing Combo where the first 2 swings are quick, while the finishing blow is a delayed swing as he steps forward. To dodge this, you will roll backward twice, then do a delayed forward roll. This will close the gap and allow you to attack him from behind. Go for a heavy attack here and try to break his poise. Another move that you should watch out for is the Lightning Dash Grab, this is a move where you see the boss vanish and surge forward with a trail of lightning behind him. Then, he will try to grab you as he appears after a brief moment. This move is lightning-fast and can be difficult to dodge but during this move, you want to pay attention to his wings . When you see it crackle and turn yellow in color, that's when you hit the roll button in either the left or right direction. It's important to get the timing right for this move as this often results in insta-kill and also lets the boss replenish his health with this move. If you're successful in dodging, go for a heavy attack while the boss is recovering. During combat, remember to make use of the pillars inside the room, as these are sturdy enough to withstand damage from the boss. It can protect you from most projectiles but not from attacks that are coming from the ground like Lightning Rings where the lightning crawls beneath you. If you don't have the Boltdrake Talisman and you find yourself struggling, you can also consume Lightningproof Dried Liver to increase your Lightning resistance for this fight. This provides a temporary effect but will provide a 15 Lightning Damage negation which can help you out in this boss. Melee Users - Cheese Strategy This strategy resolves around Nightrider Glaive infused with Braggart Roar - before fight equip any item that increase damage of charged attacks. Right before fight use the buff, then wait any Death Knight attack. When that happens, perform a fully charged combo, which will stance break Death Knight. When he gets up, repeat the combo and do it again and again if necessary. Magic and Ranged Users Strategy Writeup for Magic Users. This is a work in progress.
