From the entrance to Tombsward CatacombsGrace, head east and then south up the hill.
The Avatar is standing
directly in front of the Minor Erdtree.
Stance: 120.
Parryable: No
Is vulnerable to a
critical hit
after being
stance broken
Damage:
Standard, Strike, Holy
Negations (or Absorptions).
Standard: 10
Slash: 10
Strike: 0
Pierce: 10
Magic: 20
Fire: -40
Lightning: 20
Holy: 40
The negation numbers are the of your damage that gets blocked.
For example, if a negation is 60, 40 of that damage by that type
will go through and 60 will be negated.
Bigger number less
damage.
A negation of 100 means no damage goes through, and a
negation of -100 mean the enemy takes 2x damage from that source.
0 means damage goes pretty much as is.

Erdtree Avatar Fight Strategy
The Best Tips for Erdtree Avatar:
Try to end up behind it whenever you can, as it will always turn
to face you before it attacks
It's extremely weak to Fire damage, so Fire incantations, arrows, or
Grease
Volcano Pot and
Redmane Fire Pot also do the job, if you dont use spells
Fist type weapon users should attack by either jumping attacks
or on the back/side.
Attacking the front may cause the issue of
missing hits .
Melee Strategy
Avoid Ashes: Since most summons can't dodge, they'll can die quickly to the Erdtree Avatar's heavy attacks.
They'll also make it harder for you to predict where its attacks
will go and thus harder to dodge them.
It has such a small stable
of moves, it's better to focus on dodging them one-on-one than
trying to distract it with a summon.
Horseback: Because the Avatar's attacks and
movement are both relatively slow, it's particularly vulnerable to
mounted combat.
Make sure you've got enough Rowa Raisins to keep Torrent happy and you've got enough armor to
survive a single staff swipe, and start circling it
clockwise.
Slash its back until it starts winding up for an
attack.
If it does an overhead swing, you can keep circling and
attacking it as long as you don't end up beneath the staff when it
falls.
Otherwise, ride away when the attack starts and come back
once it's done.
You can jump over the shockwave from Erdtree Slam
if you're struggling to escape its radius in time.
Sticking Close: If you're fighting the avatar on
foot, it's better to stick in close and learn the timings of its
relatively few attacks so you can dodge through them and keep
hitting in between.
Its windups are slow and telegraphed, so this
shouldn't be too hard.
Try to get behind it when you can to make
it waste time turning to face you, and if you can't stick to its
right side where you can roll behind when it tries to stomp.
The
only time you should leave close quarters is when it does Golden
Land.
Magic and Ranged Strategy
Summoned Spirits: Choose a summon that's
good at surviving, because Erdtree Avatar hits hard.
The
Lone Wolves, Mad Pumpkin Head, or Spirit Jellyfish Ashes are all good choices, since the three wolves are decent at
dodging, and the Mad Pumpkin and Jellyfish are both very
tanky and can keep the boss distracted for quite a
while.
Circle and Strike: Keep your distance, using
Torrent if possible, and keep moving around it so you don't get
backed into a corner.
Almost all of its attacks are close
quarters, but you'll need to be wary of its hopping downward swing
and its Golden Land attack.
Don't get greedy: make sure you're
always keeping your distance while you patiently whittle down its
health.
Erdtree Avatar Attacks &
Counters
Attack
Description
Counter
Swing
Swings its staff in various directions.
These swings are all very slow and have poor tracking, so
you'll usually have plenty of time to roll or just run out
of the way
Stomp
Raises its right leg and stomps down
Roll behind it and get in a few hits while it turns to
face you
Side Sweep
Sweeps its staff counterclockwise along its left flank
Roll clockwise into the sweep.
You back be able to get in
a hit before it follows up with a clockwise swing if your
weapon is quick enough
Erdtree Slam
Jumps in the air and slams the ground with its whole body, dealing Holy damage in a small area around it
You can roll back to avoid this, but if you roll towards
its back just as it starts falling you can avoid the
damage, get in a few hits, and position yourself well for
future attacks.
You can also jump over the shockwave and
land a jumping attack at the same time, but be careful to
start from far enough away that you don't connect with its
body as it falls
Golden Land
Holds staff in the air and then slams it vertically into
the ground, which creates an golden explosion of light.
Several orbs of light then surround the Avatar briefly
before launching themselves at their target.
Get some distance so its melee attacks won't hit you, and
then run in circles around it until the projectiles stop
firing
Erdtree Avatar Notes & Other Trivia
The attacks and behaviors are very similar to the
Asylum
and
Stray Demon bosses in Dark Souls, including the body slam and staff
attacks.
