Adula has very high Magic resistance, so Intelligence builds should use spells like Rock Sling that deal physical damage.
Meteorite of Astel with Cerulean Hidden Tear can easily trivialize the fight by raining meteorites that deal physical damage.
Wear armor with high Magic and Physical resistance, like the Banished Knight Set.

They track very well, and are difficult to dodge effectively. | Adula's Moonblade | Flies up and backwards, conjures a magical greatsword in its maw, then swoops down to slash it in a wide arc, loosing a wave of frost projectiles in its wake. Glintstone Dragon Adula Notes & Other Trivia
Adula was a devourer of sorcerers, but was defeated by Ranni, after which they swore an oath to serve her, which explains why it appears in places relating to Ranni’s questline.
The name Adula is a reference to the scientific name, Adularia, of the semi-precious gem moonstone and the mountain in the Swiss Alps, Adula, where moonstone was first found.
