Patches appears throughout Elden Ring, often playing tricks on you and leading you astray. However, completing his questline rewards unique items and reveals his surprising depth.

Quest Steps:

LimgraveRegion:

1. Murkwater Cave: Encounter and fight Patches. You have the option to kill him or spare him. Sparing him unlocks him as a merchant.

- Reward: Patches' Shop (sells useful items like Margit's Shackles and Missionary's Cookbook [2])

2. Scenic Isle (Liurnia): After obtaining the boat from Liurnia of the Lakes, visit Scenic Isle to find Patches again. He mentions Volcano Manor.

Altus PlateauGrace:

3. Ruin-Strewn Precipice: After reaching this area, Patches might kick you off a cliff near the First Mt. Gelmir Campsite Site of Grace (optional and doesn't affect his quest).

Volcano ManorGrace:

1. Main Hall: If you join Volcano Manor, you'll find Patches there after completing their assassination request. He'll offer another assassination.

2. Raya Lucaria Academy (optional): You might encounter Patches trapped in an Abductor enemy here. Freeing him progresses his quest slightly.

3. Great Horned Tragoth Assassination: Follow Patches' instructions to assassinate this enemy.

- Reward: Magma Whip Candlestick

4. Rykyard, Mt. Gelmir: After defeating Rykard, Patches will disappear from Volcano Manor.

Shaded Castle:

1. Find Patches: He'll be slumped near the Shaded Castle boss arena. He gives you an item to deliver to Tanith at Volcano Manor.

Ending Paths:

Hostile Route:

• If you attack Patches at Shaded Castle or at any other point, he becomes hostile and drops his armor set.

Loyal Route:

• Deliver the item to Tanith at Volcano ManorGrace (unclear if this affects anything).
• After defeating Morgott, you'll find Patches in the Mountaintops of the GiantsRegion, near the Consecrated SnowfieldGrace Site of Grace. He has no further dialogue or rewards.

Notes:

• Completing Patches' questline doesn't seem to affect any major endings.
• Patches' dialogue and actions offer cryptic hints and lore insights.
