Sword Sorceries include Carian Greatsword, Carian Piercer, Carian Slicer, and Adula's Moonblade.
Despite there being other named or otherwise related Carian spells, they are not boosted by this staff, and are instead boosted by the Carian Glintblade Staff.
You receive the boost to Sword Sorceries even if you are wielding it in your off-hand while not meeting the requirements for it, making it great for dual-wielding staffs.
