Doubling up on the Faith scaling of this weapon with the Sacred or Flame Art affinity will yield the most damage for this weapon on a Faith build. This will also outperform using a non-elemental infusion with Faith scaling buffs such as Black Flame Blade or Order's Blade at the same level of Faith. Since two of these are available in NG, and its unique property of faith scaling, certain builds may be able to take advantage of powerstancing this weapon. With no affinity, the faith scaling contributes to the physical damage of the weapon along with its dex and strength scaling. If the weapon is given a faith scaling affinity, the faith scaling will contribute to both the physical and elemental damage of the weapon. The Erdsteel Dagger can be infused with Ashes of War.
