Description
A sword that none can pull from its scabbard of cracked stone. Relic of a lost civilization from a time long past, said to have served a ritual purpose at altars of light and darkness.
Notes
Can be acquired at one of the 3 Altar locations:. Fog Rift CatacombsGrace (on top of the 3 trap platforms and run to the furthest right corner). Ruins of UnteLandmark (behind the inactive Furnace Golem, to the right from the chest that holds Giant Golden Arc) Ancient Ruins of RauhRegion (on a tower connected by an invisible bridge beyond a large room of Kindred of Rot). The first of the three altars you interact with will grant you the Stone-Sheathed Sword. Once the sword is obtained, interacting with the other two altars will transform it into either Sword of Darkness or Sword of Light. After first transforming it to the Sword of Darkness or Light, interacting with the other altar will transform it to the other. This can be repeated indefinitely. The Sword's upgrade levels are retained when you transform it; i. e. transforming a Stone-Sheathed Sword 9 will get you a Sword of Light/Darkness 9. The altar with the highest elevation (Rauh Unte Catacombs) will transform the sword into the Sword of Light. The altar with the lower elevation will transform it into the Sword of Darkness. The Stone-Sheathed Sword will be permanently lost if it is converted into the Sword of Darkness or Sword of Light. The only way to acquire another example of the weapon is via NG . Square Off. This weapon cannot be infused with Ashes of War Can't be buffed by Magic or Consumables Stone-Sheathed Sword can be upgraded by using Somber Smithing Stones This weapon has the same one-handed horizontal slash R2 as the Broadsword. It is recommended to acquire the Stone-Sheathed Sword from the Fog Rift CatacombsGrace, as the labyrinthine nature of the dungeon makes it ill-suited for repeated visits should players wish to change the Sword to either its light or dark variants. An upgraded Stone-Sheathed Sword will carry over its levels if it is converted into its variants, e. g. converting a 10 Stone-Sheathed Sword will result in the player receiving a 10 Sword of Darkness or a 10 Sword of Light. Due to its Strength scaling, strike damage and weapon skill, there is some merit to choosing not to transform this weapon.
