Wakizashi

Inside Gaol CaveGrace, found inside one of the locked cells. The player must unlock the cells first. Weapon Skill: Quickstep. This weapon can be infused with Ashes of War. Can be buffed by Magic or Consumables. Wakizashi can be upgraded by using Smithing Stones Does not powerstance with daggers other than a second Wakizashi. Can be powerstanced with Katanas or a second Wakizashi. Uses the normal katana powerstance moveset, even if powerstanced with another Wakizashi. Like all powerstanced weapons, L1 (left hand attack) attacks with both weapons and L2 (weapon skill) uses the right-hand weapon skill. This only works with the Wakizashi in the left hand. Cannot powerstance with a katana on the left and a Wakizashi on the right. When used as part of a powerstance, the Wakizashi uses a separate set of attack ids when powerstanced with a katana in mainhand, making its damage output (but not range) roughly comparable to an equally leveled left-handed Uchigatana. Tied with Cinquedea, the Wakizashi has 18 Guard Boost, the highest of dagger class weapons. Advantages over using a second katana: Able to equip Ash of War: Parry. The powerstance L1 combo consumes roughly 20 less stamina. Disadvantages over using a second katana: Shorter than all katanas resulting in its attacks missing regularly if not up close to an enemy. If power-stanced with itself, its power-stance moveset is slower than the normal dagger moveset, resulting in slower status buildup. Sell Value: 100. recovery time has been reduced.
